Responsible for developing and accessing technical IT / cyber security controls necessary for safeguarding the firm’s information systems and applications. Perform risk oriented reviews of policies, standards, technical standards and organizational process. Conduct risk assessments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Support the cyber discipline owner in developing and maturing governance controls and process across functional areas such as static application security testing (SAST), software composition analysis (SCA), dynamic application security testing (DAST), and penetration testing.
  • Works with both business and technical contacts to conduct risk assessments which may include a business risk impact analysis, application assessments, supplier assessments or other activities to help ensure that applications and systems comply with Truist’s cyber security program (or have a documented exception in place) in support of applicable laws, regulations /guidance, and industry standards.
  • Analyzes cyber risk factors and makes recommendations concerning risk ratings and assessment activities, as well as mitigation controls and remediation plans.
  • Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan the use of new information security technologies, or modifications to existing equipment and systems that will provide capability for proposed project or work load, efficient operation and effective use of allotted resources
  • Use sophisticated analytical thought through models, testing, and experience to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
  • Works on project teams to determine relevant security assessment processes and controls.
  • Support management in development and tracking of remediation actions that address gaps or issues.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience in systems engineering or administration or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

2. Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge in applied enterprise information security technologies including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, network operating systems, identity management, database activity monitoring, encryption, content filtering, and Mainframe security

3. CISSP Certification

4. Previous experience in leading complex IT projects

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree or MBA and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

2. Banking or financial services experience.

3. COBIT and NIST 853 experience
