Position Summary
The End Point Engineer position is responsible for the design and delivery of the employee computing experience. This position implements cost-effective solutions that maximize employee productivity and reduce risks associated with the computing environment.
The End Point Engineer is actively engaged in process definition, developing best practices, growing service capacity, and improving quality while adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Principal Responsibilities
- Design, implementation, and governance of solutions for endpoint technologies including device hardware, operating systems, firmware, and software
- Configuration and deployment of operating systems and application packages
- Designing and implementing test plans to ensure successful system deployments
- Provide support for escalated issues from downstream support teams
- Managing and reporting system compliance with tools such as End Point Configuration Manager, Intune, and Active Directory
- Ensuring system designs satisfy compliance and security policies
- Automating repetitive and complex manual tasks
- Perform scheduled maintenance, updates, and deployments with accuracy and within defined time periods
- Maintains accuracy for the desktop inventory, configurations, OS configurations, patches, and desktop infrastructure across the organization, according to established guidelines, standards, and customer needs.
- Continuously assesses platforms to ensure business requirements are satisfied and the employee experience exceeds expectations
- Develop, publish and maintain system documentation
- Identify and corrects system and process inefficiencies
- Present proposed solutions to business stakeholders and IT leadership
- Travel to remote sites to assess solution efficacy and adoption.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education / Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in Windows desktop management and deployment in a centrally managed, multi-site environment
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor to interact successfully in a team environment and directly with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
- Communication and presentation of material using Microsoft Office productivity and collaboration platforms.
- General understanding of enterprise computing environments including branch office networks, cloud computing, and data centers.
- Advanced knowledge of end point technologies including:
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Microsoft and Apple operating systems
- Microsoft Office 365 productivity suites
- Microsoft Azure services including Active Directory, Defender, etc.
- Configuration management with Microsoft ECM, Intune, and/or comparable platforms for PC and mobile devices
- Application delivery and installation platforms
- Knowledge of ITIL Service Support and Delivery best practices
- Ability to translate user specifications into customer solutions.
- Quick learner and self-starter, can do attitude
