Cloud Security Engineer (GCP)

What You’ll Do

• Complete training and successfully pass the exam in the following areas:
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK)
  • Professional Cloud Architect
  • Professional Cloud Security Engineer
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • and more
• Engaging with stakeholders of EPAM Cloud Security / EPAM Cloud Support to understand the current state of cloud security in Google Cloud Platform
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend process improvement opportunities / identify risk and relevant mitigating controls
• Accountable for the development of the GCP Cloud Security Design framework
• Working with the function leads to preparing board-level presentations on observations, gaps, and global remediation roadmap including Cloud Security strategy, remediation plans, and design solutions
• Responsible for establishing security requirements needed to provide services securely
• Prepare and enforce standards, guidelines, policies for EPAM Cloud Services
• Drive cybersecurity strategy compliance
• Provide expert advice into the first line of defense initiatives
• Assist with audit-related issues
• Prepare / contribute to the development of independent testing controls

What You Have

• Practical experience in the Google Cloud Platform cloud environment for at least 2 years
• It is desirable to have knowledge of cloud delivery, security, and deployment models for Google Cloud Platform
• Knowledge of one of the programming languages like Python, Go, or Ruby
• It is desirable to understand Security processes and utilization of security tools in Google Cloud Platform
• It is desirable to have a working knowledge of cloud security standards
• It is desirable to have knowledge of risk analysis methodology, especially in relation to Cloud Security
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to articulate complex issues and incorporate feedback
• Good team player, strong stakeholder management, relationship building, influencing, facilitating, and presenting skills
• Ability to express views clearly and fluently, both orally and in writing
• Considers the audience, avoiding technical jargon wherever necessary and appropriate
• Good listening and analytical skills including:
  • Being able to come to a thoughtful and business-focused conclusion quickly
  • Ability to co-operate and work well with others adopting an approachable style
  • Ability to see the customer or opponent’s perspective, i.e., from a business point of view, the most secure solution is not always workable or realistic considering costs and benefits
  • Demonstrating a calm professional approach, with a good understanding of delivery within time constraints and the need to escalate/inform departmental management as appropriate
  • Adapting personal approach to suit situations, individuals, groups, and cultures
  • Be flexible in relation to getting the job done

  • Being rigorous and thorough – especially when logging and tracking issues through to conclusion
