Cloud Security Architect

The Cloud Security Architect is responsible for leading the creation of a technology framework and providing technical leadership in support of Bio-Rad’s initiatives in cloud computing with a focus driving our cloud security strategy. The Cloud Security Architect reports into the Infrastructure Engineering and Architecture organization, but would be embedded into the Cloud-DevOps effort to provide architectural leadership and best practices.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related subject; an advanced degree is preferred. The position requires strong leadership and team-building skills, and must be able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals and the business organizations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for understanding, researching, designing and developing security solutions, technical and reference architectures and supporting security strategies tailored to Bio-Rad’s business needs, with a focus towards AWS and Azure cloud providers.
• Provides oversight and technical leadership across all Security functional domains to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all systems.
• Articulate cybersecurity architecture vision, security strategies and risk implications to key stakeholders to guide leadership decision-making.
• Oversees Security engineering projects, initiatives and analytics to ensure complete and timely delivery of key department objectives.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Operations, Development, Cloud, and Risk Management teams to implement secure-by-design/end-to-end security standards and best practices.
• Sets direction, organizes and enable collaboration across cross-functional departments.
• Provides strong leadership and direction to team members.
• Coaches and mentors other professional staff members.
• Provides guidance and advocacy regarding project prioritization and technology investment direction for Cybersecurity.
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of engineering next-gen designs, and security trends and threats.
• Prepares reports, technical presentation and analytics visualization for management decision-making.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in designing and implementing Cloud Security Controls to meet the compliance or industry best practice needs of clients.
• Professional certifications in information technology and cloud security — CISSP preferred, CCSP (optional), CISA (optional), CEH (optional), OSCP (optional);
• Proven experience in designing and implementing Cloud Security Controls to meet the compliance or industry best practice needs of clients.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud native Network Security Controls following industry, security and compliance best practices.
• Experience of Network Virtual Appliances, Micro-segmentation, SASE and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management, including AWS IAM, Windows 2003-2019 Server/AD Domain infrastructure and Azure AD.
• Experience working in DevOps environment, automation first mindset, ability to script/code if necessary in Python or similar languages.
