Role: Sr Cloud Engineer/ Architect ( Azure, AWS) , Remote working from the United States during CST/EST.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define architecture and implementation standards for each infrastructure tower in coordination with traditional engineering and network teams
• Analyze and select cloud vendor products in partnership with other teams
• Configure and provision Next Generation Infrastructure physical stack – including rack-level design and other support activities needed from operations/facilities teams for private cloud environment
• Continue to monitor and improve cloud product reliability, availability, maintainability & cost/benefit– incl. developing fault-tolerant tools to ensure general robustness of the cloud infra
• Monitor and manage capacity across public and private cloud resource pools– incl. automating scale down/up of environments
• Support cloud developers in optimizing and automating cloud engineering activities – e.g. real time migration, provisioning and deployment, etc.
• Provide inputs to IT financial management for cloud – on costs associated with capacity build-out, forecast for cloud IT investments, etc.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Architect solutions and negotiate with vendors/partners and internal team and present solution to the leadership team
• Experienced in designing and implementing High availability engineering solutions (region, availability zone, data replication clustering, disaster recovery, and redundancy)
• Basic familiarity with network features – e.g. cloud network topology, BGP, routing, web (REST) APIs
• Container management, opensource software/tools, and scripting skills
• Deep understanding of software development lifecycles and cloud economics, incl. knowledge of consumption-driven TCO
• Understanding of network architectures suitable for different cloud topologies with familiarity with user expectations / OLAs for cloud services
• Good knowledge of security implications of public & private cloud infra design
• Product development in a scaled agile environment with an awareness of DevOps methodologies and ability/mindset to drive rapid prototyping and piloting of cloud solutions
• Understands the relationship between Product Owner, Scrum Master, and rest of team
• Awareness of DevOps methodologies and ability/mindset to drive rapid prototyping and piloting of cloud solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related course of study
• 7+ years of IT Experience with 3+ years as an infrastructure and cloud architect
• Experience with configuring, deploying, and operating public cloud services (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Experience in setting up high availability and disaster recovery solutions, capacity management, TCO analysis, and recommendation
• Expertise in infrastructure as code and container management (e.g., cloud formation, ARM, Terraform, Dockers, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Experience with open-source tools & scripting language (e.g. Python, PowerShell/Go, Ruby, Shell, etc)
• Experience in cyber security gap analysis of cloud or on-prem systems and closing gaps
• Knowledge of Agile Development methodology to interface with the development team is preferred
