Overview

  • Integrate and improve the Company’s geohazard program
  • Company’s US and Canadian geohazard programs span pipeline and facility assets and aim to identify and manage risk associated with threats such as landslides, subsidence and erosion.

Job Responsibilities

Programs

  • Responsible for the development of the Company’s geohazard programs
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards including 195.452 and CSA Z662
  • Work across departments to lead emphasis projects to address specific geohazard challenges
  • Train and work with Regional Integrity and Operations personnel to implement programs
  • Work with Geotechnical vendor(s) to provide technical analysis of identified threat locations
  • Provide geohazard expertise to guide decisions across organization
  • Monitor industry trends, and emerging standards and regulations
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation to support above

Data/Risk

  • Champion the implementation and maintenance of geohazard data management systems
  • Identify opportunities to integrate company data to improve decision making
  • Work with the Risk and Technology team to develop and implement improved risk assessment methodologies

KPIs/Goals

  • Work with both field and corporate level stakeholders to develop program goals and associated metrics
  • Identify and evaluate geohazard metrics to inform future program improvements and support accountability
  • Support the development of the annual overhead budget as well as longer term spending estimates

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience in liquid hydrocarbon transportation facilities operations and maintenance or geotechnical engineering
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical writing skills
