Position Overview:

The Information Security group at Freddie Mac has an exciting and challenging opportunity for someone who is interested in bringing their passion, dedication, and expertise to lead the Information Security Event Management team! You will lead the engineering efforts to design, build and maintain new Splunk SaaS platform and expand log collection across large hybrid environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage oversight and operational responsibility for the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise Event Management security tools
  • Works closely with Incident Response and Forensics teams to gather requirements and support their needs
  • Develop and sustain long-standing relationships with internal Business Technology Owners (BTO) and 3rd party vendors
  • Lead negotiations between Information Security, vendors, BTOs and other internal teams
  • Work with key stakeholders internally to ensure complete coverage of log collection for applications and infrastructure in hybrid environment
  • Develop and maintain plans for all vendor activities, metrics and communications to Leadership
  • Create and update process documentation, controls, and SOPs
  • Supervise and lead employees of various roles and technical skill levels.

Our impact:

The Freddie Mac’s Information Security Event Management team is responsible for ensuring vital security events are logged and collected centrally in the SIEM. These include on-prem and cloud infrastructure, applications, databases, endpoints, SaaS systems, and others.

Your impact:

Bring leadership and expertise in managing people, processes, and technologies required to deliver an effective Security Event Management, while working with internal Business Technology Owners (BTOs) and 3rd party vendors.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of professional experience with 3+ years of management experience.
  • Experience owning security tools and managing related engineering operations
  • Understanding of Logging and Event Management best practices
  • Familiar with Linux and Windows operating systems, Cloud technologies, SaaS
  • Experience leading projects and initiatives
  • Preferred certifications: Splunk Enterprise, CISSP, AWS/GCP/Azure, GIAC
