Responsible for ensuring the continued enhancement of features and security of LKQ’sIT infrastructure, participating in architecture and roadmap design, designing solutions, and identifying and resolving systemic issues and serves as the last level of escalation.

Essential Job Duties

  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s application systems and/or IT infrastructure.
  • Provide an architectural framework for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts.
  • Understand user and process requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables.
  • Work closely with developers and engineers to develop road maps for applications, align development plans, and to ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor technological advancements to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards as well as emerging business requirements.
  • Understand the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions.
  • Analyze systems and perform usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements.
  • Map the relationships between IT platform/infrastructure components (i.e., Technology End Users, IT Systems Software & Hardware, and Info-Communications Transmission Networks).
  • Identify the key technology interactions and dependencies across systems/platforms impacting the organization’s ability to achieve integration, compatibility, and performance targets.
  • Evaluate the total cost of ownership and return on investment of various IT platform/infrastructure alternatives.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of IT infrastructure experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Senior Engineer in an environment of comparable size/complexity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TOGAF, ITIL, or PMP certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Technical certifications for relevant technologies (Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, RedHat, NetApp, etc.).

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously including task delegation, project oversight, and resource allocation.
