Responsible for review and analysis of security requirements, works with senior team members to develop integrated plans to protect corporate assets and information technology, and administers security systems to support daily security operations. Assess overall security risk of systems, prioritizes and leads activities to lower AT&Ts overall security risk posture. This fast paced and very demanding position requires an operations/network security background combined with creative and independent thinking.
Candidates will assess security vulnerabilities and work with multiple organizations to protect AT&T IP infrastructure from any security threats. Responsibilities will include obtaining threat information and analyzing threat data to ensure availability of all AT&T services. This requires a high-level of familiarity with current network operations and the interactions of network and support systems so that current and future systems and services are securely integrated into the enterprise computing environments. Candidates may provide evaluations and briefings to inter-departmental groups and executives on technology directions, vulnerabilities, and opportunities. Works as a liaison to clients and other IT organizations as a subject matter expert on the security processes they represent. In addition, this position may coordinate, evaluate and partner with technology vendors and outside consultants as needed. Job will include fault management operational activities for several platforms including AT&T DDoS protection as well as many firewall platforms within AT&T infrastructure. Job will require shiftwork on a 24/7 operational team.
Candidates must have extensive IP expertise and posse a very broad technical knowledge and understanding of large scale, LAN/WAN networks. An advance understanding of OSPF/BGP Routing Protocols, switching VLAN design and setup are required. LINUX/Open BSD administration experience as well as scripting knowledge in PERL or Expect is a plus. Also required is a strong understanding of all emerging technologies and network security policies and standards. Experience with firewall platforms in a plus, specifically Juniper ISG or SRX, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls. The candidates are required to assist with developing automated tools and programming rules to manage daily routines. Network security experience is a plus.
Education: Bachelors of Science degree in the field of Computers, Engineering, or Mathematics preferred. Experience: Typically requires 3-5 years experience. Certifications a plus.
Experience: Typically has 3-5 years of relevant experience in data analysis, project management, knowledge of Information Security technologies/policies/programs. Extensive IP experience and experience with Juniper and Cisco router platforms required. Firewall operational experience is strongly suggested. Open BSD or LINUX experience required.
